The critical inner voice that hurts us and others with its judgement and criticism. Tries to “change” emotions by distorting reality. Primarily needs their pain and suffering to be healed. The part of us that needs to be transformed, eradicated and transcended — not rejected, abandoned or exiled.
The loving inner voice that comforts us with gentleness, humor, love and respect. All feelings are welcomed, validated and healed through listening and making choices that protect, guide, nurture and support all inner family members.
The often frustrated inner voice that fights to protect and seeks to comfort the inner child. Tries to “fix” emotions by using addictions and compulsions. Primarily needs their guilt and anger to be healed. The part of us that hopes, dreams and believes.
The often deeply hidden, “Still, small voice within” (the True Self) — innocent and vulnerable to injury. Primarily needs their shame, fear and self-doubt to be healed through grief and mourning of childhood trauma. The part of us that longs to be happy, joyous and free.
